Scott Marches in A’ROR’N Days Parade
2006-06-28

On Saturday, June 24, Scott participated in the 17th Annual A’ROR’N Days Parade in Aurora.

Even before the opening fly-over kicked-off the parade, there was a sense that the event was going to go well. The parade had a pirate theme, and parade goers could be heard on all sides practicing their best pirate “ARRR!!!”

Scott had the chance to talk to various parade participants before the opening flyover, including Henry Cramer and the rest of the folks from the Hamilton Manor vehicles.

As the first plane flew overhead, the Kleeb for Congress crew assembled into parade formation. With the banner leading the march down Main Street in Aurora, Scott ran across the street and onto the sidewalks to meet spectators. While staffers threw candy to children, Johnny Cash tunes pumped through the speakers of the campaign truck.

The hot, humid weather didn’t stop Scott from dashing from group to group. At the end of the parade, the people of the Promes Family Reunion float were gracious enough to give the sweat-drenched candidate a ride back to the parade line-up spot!

Following the parade, Scott headed back to downtown Aurora to check-out more of the A’ROR’N Days activities.

“Every time I come to Aurora I am so impressed with the beauty and vitality of the downtown area, and the strong sense of community," Scott said.

"Aurora has managed to maintain a robust mix of locally-owned business – from coffee shops to state-of-the-art technology companies," he added. "It’s a town with tremendous history, and a very promising future – just like the rest of the 3rd district."
