Meetings and Greetings in Holdrege
2006-07-24

On Thursday, July 20, Scott traveled to Holdrege for a series of meetings, which ranged from lunch at the senior center to discussions about entrepreneurship.

Scott began his day of events in Holdrege with a meeting with Tim Anderson and Rob McCormick of Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District. After conversing about energy and water issues, Scott stopped at the Cozy Café for a meet-and-greet sponsored by Jeff Rager, Brian Osborn and the Phelps County Democrats.

Following the fun at the Cozy Café, Scott met with Veterans Service Officer Art Johnsen. The pair talked about the veterans health clinic to be constructed in Holdrege and issues facing veterans today, with special attention paid to health care.

For lunch, Scott mingled with the citizens at the Phelps County Senior Center, and to finish his daily activities in Holdrege, he met with Betty Sayers. One of the founders of Business Beyond the Farm, Sayers talked to Scott about entrepreneurial opportunities in rural Nebraska.
